This Privacy Policy explains how HomeInvent (“HomeInvent”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the HomeInvent iOS app. By using HomeInvent you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
HomeInvent does not require a HomeInvent account, email sign-in, or Sign in with Apple. Optional details you type in Settings stay on the device.
You may choose to store:
This information is used only to provide the inventory, search, scan, report and backup features you request on that device.
Inventory, photos, receipts and related files are stored locally on the device where you installed HomeInvent.
This version does not use iCloud or CloudKit to synchronize, back up or restore inventory across devices. Deleting HomeInvent, or erasing the device, deletes the local inventory unless you previously exported a backup and kept that file.
HomeInvent does not operate a developer-owned server that receives your inventory content.
HomeInvent uses Apple frameworks on the device for camera capture, barcode and QR scanning, text recognition (OCR), object and product recognition, RoomPlan room scanning on compatible devices, and Apple on-device language models when available to suggest tags or interpret search phrases. Insurance Policy Intelligence reads uploaded policy files on this device.
HomeInvent does not send your photos, inventory records, or insurance policy documents to a third-party cloud AI service for recognition. You can always review and edit detected information before or after saving.
HomeInvent asks for system permissions only when you use the related feature. You can deny any permission and still use other parts of the app. You can revoke access later in iOS Settings.
HomeInvent is free to download with in-app limits. HomeInvent Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store: HomeInvent Pro Monthly and HomeInvent Pro Yearly.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Apple processes the purchase, tax, billing, restore and cancellation. HomeInvent does not receive your full payment card number, Apple Account password, or a HomeInvent user login for billing.
HomeInvent receives from Apple only what is needed to unlock Pro on the device: product identifiers, subscription status and related transaction dates. That entitlement status is cached locally so the app can apply Free or Pro limits.
Current prices are shown in the app by the App Store. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel in Apple ID settings or with Manage Subscriptions in HomeInvent. Canceling keeps Pro until the paid period ends.
If Pro expires or is revoked, HomeInvent does not delete your homes, rooms, boxes, items, photos, receipts, warranties or notes. Free creation limits apply to new inventory. Some reports (including Insurance Claim, High-Value Assets, Net Worth, Business Assets, Donation and Estate Distribution) require an active Pro subscription after Pro has ended. Everyday inventory use, search and backup export remain available.
Restoring purchases asks Apple for the subscription tied to the App Store Apple ID signed in on the device. Restoring Pro does not restore inventory. Inventory is restored only from a backup file you exported, or from data still on that device.
Deleting the app does not cancel your Apple subscription. After reinstall, Pro can return via Apple entitlements or Restore Purchases if the subscription is still active. Local inventory from the deleted install is gone unless you imported a backup.
Use of Apple’s payment and subscription services is also governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy, including Apple’s Standard EULA for auto-renewable subscriptions.
HomeInvent is designed not to collect your inventory content on HomeInvent servers. We do not sell your inventory information and we do not use it for advertising.
We do not operate third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs in the current app. The app’s privacy manifest declares that HomeInvent does not track you and does not collect data types for tracking.
If you email support, we receive whatever you choose to send. Do not send passwords, Apple Account credentials, payment card numbers, or full backups that contain sensitive household data unless you understand you are sharing that file with us.
The current HomeInvent app does not include third-party advertising SDKs, does not show ads, and does not use your inventory for targeted advertising. Optional in-app App Store review prompts are provided by Apple.
Reports, PDFs, spreadsheets and ZIP backups leave the device only when you generate them and then share, save or send them. You are responsible for how you store those files.
Export backup (Settings → Privacy & Data) creates a ZIP of your inventory and photos. Export remains available after Pro ends. Importing a backup replaces the inventory currently on that device with the backup contents.
Reports and values are organizational tools. They are not legal, tax, insurance or appraisal advice.
HomeInvent Settings may include a link to a public WhatsApp channel for tips. Opening it is optional and uses WhatsApp under WhatsApp’s own terms.
Inventory remains on the device until you delete items or homes, use Delete all data in Privacy & Data, delete the app, or erase the device. You can clear learned OCR corrections separately.
Apple retains App Store transaction records according to Apple’s policies. HomeInvent cannot delete your Apple subscription history. Cancel or request Apple support for Apple ID billing questions.
Keep your own exported backups of information you want to preserve. Because this version has no iCloud sync, a backup ZIP is the way to copy inventory to another device or to recover after reinstall.
HomeInvent is a household utility. It is not directed at children and is not intended to collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly request contact information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support email, contact us and we will delete that correspondence where appropriate.
We rely on iOS sandboxing, local storage, optional App Lock, and optional home and room locks. No method of storage is perfectly secure. Anyone with unlocked access to the device, or to a backup ZIP you shared, may access the inventory in that copy. Use a device passcode and consider App Lock if the device is shared.
HomeInvent uses Apple system frameworks required for the features above, including StoreKit, MapKit, Speech, LocalAuthentication, User Notifications, Vision, RoomPlan and on-device Foundation Models when present. Apple’s handling of information through those services is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
This version does not call a third-party product catalog over the network. Barcode values you scan are stored locally unless you export them.
We may update this Privacy Policy when HomeInvent’s features or data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will show the latest revision. If we add iCloud, analytics or other collection in a future version, we will update this policy before or when those practices apply.
